It is an Add-on Rating Program to the Private Pilot License. Mainly the program allows a student to fly in more adverse weather conditions such as clouds, fog or dust. The Instrument Rating Program trains pilots to fly an aircraft solely by reference to instruments in conditions of low visibility. The student will receive training in the maneuvers and procedures mandatory to meet the standards of GACA Instrument Rating Practical Test Standards.
The student receives training in safety awareness, single-pilot resource management and aeronautical decision-making. At the successful completion of this course, the student will have gained the aeronautical experience necessary to apply for the addition of an instrument rating for Private Pilot Certification.
Privileges Include: Day &Night Instrument Flight Rules (IFR), and passengers allowed not-for-hire.
